A Digital Computer Model of a Multiple Effect Evaporator

چکیده

A dynamic mathematical model of a multiple effect evaporator has been developed for a digital computer using the IBM Continuous Systems Modelling Program. The model will be incorporated in an overall simulation of a cane sugar factory. The mathematical model was derived from material and energy balance equations assuming that (i) the liquid phase is perfectly mixed; (ii) the vapour phase is always in equilibrium with its liquid phase. An empirical equation for the heat transfer coefficient was derived from first principles and fitted by non-linear regression to a set of factory data. Other physical parameters were defined by empirical equations derived from data in the literature. Graphs are presented showing the effect of various changes in the feed conditions on exit brix and flowrate.

Development of an Efficient Linear Model for the Analysis of Multiple Effect Evaporator System

Based on the principles of Process Integration a simplified model has been developed for the analysis of multiple effect evaporator (MEE) systems. It uses the new concepts of stream analysis, temperature path and internal heat exchange for the formulation of the model equations. In addition to it, the above model also takes into account variation in physico-thermal properties as well as boiling...

Control and Optimization of a Multiple Effect Evaporator

Multiple effect evaporator control is a problem that has been widely reported in the pulp and sugar industries. Evaporators are the largest heat users and major contributors to losses in sugar cane factories. These factors make effective evaporator control crucial to overall factory efficiency. The complexity and large number of interactions make single loop PID control (the conventional propor...

FPGA Implementation of a Hammerstein Based Digital Predistorter for Linearizing RF Power Amplifiers with Memory Effects

Power amplifiers (PAs) are inherently nonlinear elements and digital predistortion is a highly cost-effective approach to linearize them. Although most existing architectures assume that the PA has a memoryless nonlinearity, memory effects of the PAs in many applications ,such as wideband code-division multiple access (WCDMA) or orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), can no longer b...
